Ramadan Moon Sighting Dua

اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللهُ

Allahumma ahlilhu `alainā bil-yumni wal-iman, was-salamati wal-Islam, rabbi wa rabbukAllah

Translation: Oh Allah, make it a start full of peace and faith, safety, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah

RAMADAN MOON SIGHTING DUA

Dua  for the 1st Ashra of Ramadan ( first 10 days)

The first Ashra of Ramadan is also known as the ashra of mercy.

Or

you can also recite the following dua during 1st Ashra of Ramadan

“يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغيثُ”

“YA-HAYYU YA-QAYYUM BIRAHMATIKA ASTAGHEES”

Translation in English

“Oh Everliving, The Everlasting, I seek Your help through Your mercy”

Dua  for the 2nd Ashra of Ramadan (next 10 days)

The second Ashra of Ramadan is also known as the ashra of forgiveness.

“اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ”

“ASTAGFIRULLAHA RAB-BI MIN KULLI ZAMBIYON WA-ATOOBUILAIYH”

Translation in English

I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed”

2nd ashra dua
Dua  for the 3rd Ashra of Ramadan (last 10 days)

The third Ashra of Ramadan is also known as the ashra of seeking refuge.

اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

“ALLAMHUMMA AJIRNI MINAN NAAR”

Translation in English

“O, Allah! Save me from the Hell-Fire”

The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) preferred to spend most of the time in worship throughout the last Ashra of Ramadan. Layla-tul-Qadr (night of power ) is one of the odd digit nights of the last ten days of Ramadan and the reward (thawab) of an act of worship done in this night is more than the reward of 1000 months of worship.

Hazrat Aisha (R.A) said:

I asked the Messenger of Allah: O Messenger of Allah if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) recited the following Dua. This Dua is suggested by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.).Therefore, the following Dua ought to be recited throughout the last Ashra of Ramadan.

Ramadan prayers for suhoor and iftar

Prayer for keeping the fast (Suhoor dua)

وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan

Translation in English

I intend to keep the fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan

Prayer for breaking the fast (Iftar dua)

اللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ امنْتُ وَعَليْكَ تَوَكّلتُ وَعَلى رِزْقِكَ اَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa alayka tawakkaltu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu

Translation in English

O, Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You and I put my trust in You and I break my fast with Your sustenance
